The Thinker

Bo: I’m thinking.

Bo: I love to think. I’m so good at it!

Kobi: Good grief.

Kobi: I’m thinking I should pounce on you!

Quotes of the Day

Here’s looking at you, kitties

Kobi: Bo, they’re looking at us again.

Bo: I, for one, appreciate a good audience!

Kobi: I look good even when I hide!

Bo: Well, this is awkward. Nothing to see here! Move along, move along….

Quotes of the Day

Quality means doing it right when no one is looking. (Henry Ford)

I have no regrets. I don’t believe in looking back. What I am proudest of? Working really hard… and achieving as much as I could. (Elena Kagan)

I cannot think that we are useless or God would not have created us. There is one God looking down on us all. We are all the children of one God. The sun, the darkness, the winds are all listening to what we have to say. (Geronimo)

Cats can be comfortable anywhere. Just ask Bo and Kobi!

Comfy cat-4

Bo: I love sitting here. It’s nice and warm!

Comfy cat-1

Kobi: Not as wonderful as this towel mum left for me!

Comfy cat-2

Bo: You haven’t tried this catnip-filled scratching “surfboard”!

Comfy cat-3

Kobi: The couch is fine for me, even without the blankets!

A cat and his mouse

Never come between a cat and his mouse.

Bo: Mum found this pink mousie in her box of old cat toys. It’s mine now.

Cat mouse1

Kobi: That’s right, because you can’t have MY mouse!

Cat mouse2

Quotes of the Day

Solitudinally speaking

Is solitudinally a word? We’re not sure. But if it is, these cats know a thing or two about it.

Solitude B

Bo must be inspecting the wall.

Kobi is contemplating how long he’ll remain on the sofa chair undisturbed!

Quotes of the Day

Our language has wisely sensed the two sides of being alone. It has created the word loneliness to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word solitude to express the glory of being alone. (Paul Tillich)

Whosoever is delighted in solitude is either a wild beast or a god. (Francis Bacon, paraphrasing Aristotle)

Solitude would be ideal if you could pick the people to avoid. (Karl Kraus)

Old friends, sat on their park bench like bookends.

A time of innocence,

A time of innocence

A time of confidences.

Old friends

Quotes of the Day

Like bookends, we have learned to support each other when the stuff in the middle pushes us apart. (Liane Holliday Willey)

Social media is great, I guess, but it feels like technology is the sapper of innocence. (Chris O’Dowd)

I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun. (Charles R. Swindoll)

Computer Malfunction

I apologize for not having a recent post. Our super duper HP laptop, which contained all of our photos, died. I had backed up a lot of them, but not the most recent photographs – which, ironically, I was planning on doing the week the laptop died. We took a trip to Best Buy’s Geek Squad, where they diagnosed the hard drive and told me that they couldn’t even access the files on it – all for free, I might add (my thanks to Tracy at Country Girl, City Bling for recommending them). We were there for about 3 hours, and ended up getting a new Lenovo laptop. Two days later we had to go back to Best Buy to exchange our new laptop for another new one – I’m sure you computer geeks must know how aggravating it is to set up everything on your new computer (on a new operating system, no less), only to have to exchange it and do it all over again! I also worked to put our new photos on our PC, too. C’est la vie!

Bo: Omigosh, mummy, I can’t believe you lost all of our beautiful photos!

Computer 1

Kobi: For cat’s sake, Bo, it wasn’t her fault! I love you, mum.

Computer 2

We have a couple of guests here today, as well. Our friend Sainty showed us how pleased he is that it’s spring by using these (fake) flowers as his bed.

Sainty April 2015

And Big Orange says hello and Happy Spring, too!

Big Orange

Quotes of the Day

Kirk: Computer, go to sensor probe. Any unusual readings?
Computer: No decipherable reading on females. However, unusual reading on male board members. Detecting high respiration patterns, perspiration rates up, heartbeat rapid, blood pressure higher than normal.
Kirk: Uh, that’s sufficient. Strike that from the record, Mr Spock.
(Star Trek, “Mudd’s Women”)

Spock: I prefer the concrete, the graspable, the proveable.
Kirk: You’d make a splendid computer, Mr Spock.
Spock: That is very kind of you, Captain!
(Star Trek, “The Return of the Archons”)

Spock: Computers make excellent and efficient servants, but I have no wish to serve under them. Captain, a starship also runs on loyalty to one man, and nothing can replace it or him.
(Star Trek, “The Ultimate Computer”)

Fashion models

The barmy Bo, bringer of “Baal”-istic-like balderdash.

Fashion models-1

The keen Kobi, the kabalistic and kooky kat.

Fashion models-2

It’s a crazy life we live, you and I.

Fashion models-3

Quotes of the Day

You can never be overdressed or overeducated. (Oscar Wilde)

Fashion fades, only style remains the same. (Coco Chanel)

My cat is older than many fashion models. I won’t even discuss the fact that she also weighs more. (Gina Barreca)

“It’s a crazy life we live, you and I” is from the Little River Band’s “We Two.”

When I was two, I was nearly new

It’s our birthday today. We are two years old!

We still hang out together.

And we still fight!

Quotes of the Day (really, selected poetry!)

Tattoo was the mother of Pinkle Purr,
An enormous leopard with coal-black fur.
A little brown kitten that’s nearly new
Is now playing games with its big Tattoo…
And Pink looks lazily down at her:
“Dear little Tat,” says Pinkle Purr.
(a.a. milne, Pinkle Purr)

I love my little kitty
her coat is so warm.
And if I don’t hurt her
She’ll do me no harm
I won’t pull her tail,
Or drive her away
And kitty and I
Very gently will play.
(Mother Goose)

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray this cushy life to keep.
I pray for toys that look like mice,
And sofa cushions, soft and nice.

I pray for gourmet kitty snacks,
And someone nice to scratch my back,
For windowsills all warm and bright,
For shadows to explore at night.

I pray I’ll always stay real cool
And keep the secret feline rule
To NEVER tell a human that
The world is really ruled by CATS!

Creative Blogger Award

Thanks to the wonderful blogger and her cat Sonu Singh at But I Smile Anyway, I’ve been nominated for the Creative Blogger Award! (Or, as she put it, the Can’t Be Arsed award!)

The rules are as follows:

1. Contact all of your nominees and notify them of their award. You can pick as many blogs as you like, but five is the minimum.

2. Give a shout-out to the blogger that nominated you and post a link to their website.

3. Share five random facts about yourself.

4. Display the Creative Blogger Award image above your post.

5. Pass along these rules to the nominees.

So, five random things about myself.

1. I’m playing fetch with Kobi as I’m writing this.

2. I have celiac disease, which means I can’t eat wheat, rye, or barley, or any derivatives thereof. (Fortunately, I don’t like beer!)

3. I love the beach!

4. I like to write.

5. My husband and I are big geeks (okay, that might not be a surprise!). We both used to collect comic books and still peruse the comic book racks. I have 6+ long comic book boxes in my spare room.

Now it’s time for five other blogs to nominate.

1. Hands on Bowie

2. Gentle stitches

3. These Days of Mine

4. Two Cats Views

5. One Spoiled Cat

Thank you again, Ritu, for nominating me!
