Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans

So, I had a nice post ready after Thanksgiving, but unfortunately we had a problem. Boba was throwing up on Friday. Not continuously, but enough to make me a little worried. When I got up yesterday, he had obviously tried to eat something and threw it up. I took him to the vet’s immediately. (I wish I had taken him on Friday!) He had to have surgery. It turns out he had something called intussusception–his small bowel was in his stomach. The vet had to remove some of the bowel, as it was necrotic. Then she called me to transport him to the emergency vet clinic, which is open during holidays and weekends (when the vet is closed). This is a picture I took of him in his crate at the emergency clinic, before they took him in the back for their examination.

He still has a little bit of a temperature, but the technician told me he’s doing better this morning. They will be feeding him this afternoon. Hopefully he will keep the food down, and I can bring him home!

  1. Oh my goodness! I have to say that’s a new one on me but thank heavens the vet diagnosed it correctly and Boba had surgery QUICKLY – hopefully now he’s recovering well and can eat normally…..I’m sure you can’t wait to have him back home sweet home!

    • The vet thought he might have eaten something when she examined the x-ray. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what we left out by accident. I’m not sure what causes this, though. Still awaiting word from the vet about how he’s doing. We may have to pick him up tomorrow morning (really early!). Ellie
