Some exciting news!

This is Bo and Kobi, with some exciting news!

News-1

We have a new cousin, and Big Orange has a new brother! His name is Little Dog (as in “hot dog”).

News-2

He showed up one day at my parents’ house and is very, very friendly! A neighbor familiar with the neighborhood pets confirmed that this cat was a stray. His ear is clipped, which is apparently a mark of a “TNR” (Trap, Neuter, Release). A visit to the vet’s showed that he had no microchip and is free of Feline AIDs and Feline Leukemia.

My brother took him so Big Orange would have a companion. This is the first day they met.

News-3

And while Little D hissed at first, the two cats now get along quite admirably; they play with each other and groom each other!

News-4

Little D is very happy in his new home!

Quotes of the Day

Cats have a scam going – you buy the food, they eat the food, they go away; that’s the deal. (Eddie Izzard)

I believe cats to be spirits come to earth. A cat, I am sure, could walk on a cloud without coming through. (Jules Verne)

Time spent with cats is never wasted. (Sigmund Freud)

Computer Malfunction

I apologize for not having a recent post. Our super duper HP laptop, which contained all of our photos, died. I had backed up a lot of them, but not the most recent photographs – which, ironically, I was planning on doing the week the laptop died. We took a trip to Best Buy’s Geek Squad, where they diagnosed the hard drive and told me that they couldn’t even access the files on it – all for free, I might add (my thanks to Tracy at Country Girl, City Bling for recommending them). We were there for about 3 hours, and ended up getting a new Lenovo laptop. Two days later we had to go back to Best Buy to exchange our new laptop for another new one – I’m sure you computer geeks must know how aggravating it is to set up everything on your new computer (on a new operating system, no less), only to have to exchange it and do it all over again! I also worked to put our new photos on our PC, too. C’est la vie!

Bo: Omigosh, mummy, I can’t believe you lost all of our beautiful photos!

Computer 1

Kobi: For cat’s sake, Bo, it wasn’t her fault! I love you, mum.

We have a couple of guests here today, as well. Our friend Sainty showed us how pleased he is that it’s spring by using these (fake) flowers as his bed.

And Big Orange says hello and Happy Spring, too!

Quotes of the Day

Kirk: Computer, go to sensor probe. Any unusual readings?
Computer: No decipherable reading on females. However, unusual reading on male board members. Detecting high respiration patterns, perspiration rates up, heartbeat rapid, blood pressure higher than normal.
Kirk: Uh, that’s sufficient. Strike that from the record, Mr Spock.
(Star Trek, “Mudd’s Women”)

Spock: I prefer the concrete, the graspable, the proveable.
Kirk: You’d make a splendid computer, Mr Spock.
Spock: That is very kind of you, Captain!
(Star Trek, “The Return of the Archons”)

Spock: Computers make excellent and efficient servants, but I have no wish to serve under them. Captain, a starship also runs on loyalty to one man, and nothing can replace it or him.
(Star Trek, “The Ultimate Computer”)

Busy, busy, busy!

We’ve been very busy lately! Mum is busy planning her family’s “seven fishes” dinner (Polish-American version) for Christmas Eve.

Busy1

We are VERY UPSET because this year, the cooking and dining will be done ELSEWHERE! How dare she? That means OUR COUSIN will be the lucky beneficiary of any fish droppings!!

Who, me?
Who, me?

Daddy’s happy because we shipped his family gifts across the pond to England. While mum and daddy were at the post office, daddy discovered a great find!

Happy Thanksgiving (a little late!)

Hi. Big Orange here. Thanksgiving was at my house this year.

Big O1

I mingled amongst the guests.

Big O2

I helped our first cousin (once removed) color.

Big O3

But the best part of Thanksgiving was being with my human.

Big O4

We hope all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a nice holiday, too!

So much larger than life

I’m Big Orange, Bo and Kobi’s cousin.

Big Orange-1

I’m big.

Big Orange-2

Have I mentioned how cute I am?

Big Orange-9

I love Bo and Kobi’s dog. When I get the chance, I like to go under her belly.

Big Orange-3

Bo and Kobi: Yeah, and every time the dog returns from Big Orange’s house, we have to rub our bodies against hers to get rid of his smell! It isn’t fair!
